Moonlit Lake

I have been working on this piece for a while, and finally finished it.  It was really challenging because I was painting it partly from a daytime photograph and partly from my imagination.
It is 11 by 14 inches.

I was feeling stuck, in the middle of a lot of blue paint, about halfway through this painting and I didn't even have a boat.  That is partly why I didn't paint the oars in plain sight.  However, now that I am safely done with this painting, I have decided to be nice and announce that the oars are just laying at the bottom of the boat.  My poor character is not stranded.

I am sorry that the photographs are a little blurry.  It is really frustrating to me, but that is the legacy of my camera at this point.

Love the way the light fades to purple on the mountain.
